The Night Watches

Have you seen my big boy lately? All his dark hair is falling out and is being replaced by BLONDE!!! He is just like his mommy and daddy! In order to make this transition a little more normal looking, we gave Ty a big boy haircut! He looks like a toddler!! He will be 6 months old this Friday, and is just getting bigger every day! Hard to believe he is already halfway to his 1st birthday!

Well, we are back from yet another vacation! This past week was spent with my parents and sister in Virginia Beach. We had a great time being together, just relaxing on the beach! Tyler seems to enjoy the ocean very much. He would take the longest naps under an umbrella with the sea breaze blowing all his crazy hair around! What made this vacation so special, was that this was the longest my sister, Lotte Abernathey, and I had spent together since she moved to North Carolina! And it was the longest she had gotten to spend with her new Nephew! So fun! Tyler and Lotte at the shore! Thanks for such a great time Mom and Dad and Lotte! Love you guys! 

Each year, we go on a vacation with the Kauflin family. This is a break from every day life, filled with much sunbathing, relaxing, reading and resting. The beach was beautiful! We stayed in a big house with the Kauflins, Russells, Simmons, and the other Kauflins (Devon and Kristine)! It is a full house! But it also makes for lots of memories and good times! Our little family of three at Jocky's Ridge... our first family picture! It is hard to believe that just last summer I was pregnant with this little boy, and that those little fingers and toes were growing inside me! Amazing! Ah... the beach! The Kauflins have been going to the Outer Banks for over 20 years of vacations. So you can imagine that there are many traditions that happen each year! One of those is going to play putt putt. The guys are always competing and the ladies, well we are just there to have a good time! Two tired but cute cousins! The traditional Family picture as taken each year at Jocky's Ridge sand dunes. I think this year we got a good one! Jordan carried Tyler up and down the dunes...the wind sure did make this boy hae some crazy hair!  

Jordan introduced Tyler to the pool. The water was a little too cold for him to get into it until later in the week... he seemed facinated by it though! By the end of the week, he made it past getting him feet wet, to sitting in his special float! Daddy and boy! Tyler is past sucking his thumb, and on to jamming his whole hand in his mouth!  

Riley Simmons is one of the sweetest little girls! She smothered Tyler with kisses on his hands, cheeks and forehead... then she gave him bear hug after bear hug... possible future wife??? Cousisn Julia facinates Tyler. Whenever he is around her, he just stares at her and touches her. He was grabbing her little hands and face... it really was so cute! Girlie is just too cute too... I love the time we get to spend with family. It is such a blessing to see each person growing and to just hang out together! Tyler loves playing with his Aunt Chel!  

Tyler actually liked the sand! We didnt know what to expect, but he just wanted to touch it all! This is one of my favorite pictures... Jordan had fun introducing Tyler to all the new things he was seeing! Tyler did a great job forbearing wth me as I took about 100 pictures of him... I think he is getting a little tired of it here though! We had a blast and cannot wait to take Tyler back again!  

Yep, that is right, we are off to the beach, and on the road again! We just got back from New Attitude Tuesday night, and are packing our bags again! We are leaving Sunday morning after the first meeting at church and will be gone for a whole week! Tyler is very excited! I will post pictures of New Attitude when we get back, along with the many pictures from the beach. New Attitude was great! Tyler was the best baby! Hope you all have a great week!
