An update in pictures....

Been busy keeping up with little "McQueen" and spending lots of time in the bathroom...

With a quick glance around the corner, making sure this one was ok...

after a little potty usage, we are off and running AGAIN!

Between potty breaks, Jack got his first tastes of food... nice drool ehh?

Once he got past the fingers in the mouth, he really likes food! A lot!

So much that he takes the spoon when he can!

Down to the last bite!So now that Tyler is in big boy undies and not having accidents, we can go outside and enjoy some of this....

...and this!

I love spring! I love that Tyler is basically potty trained! I am kind of sad that he is no longer a baby... this is just one more step to him growing up! It goes way to fast! Savor savor savor!

so far so good..

Yesterday, my sweet boy went pp on the potty 6 times and had NOT 1 accident! He even went potty at Target! I am so proud of him!

what's new these days...

A LOT!!!! It has been a while since my last post, and it has been quite full. Last week, Jordan headed off to T4G and we filled our time with play dates, visits with friends, and keeping the house clean! We also geared up for potty training, which began this week. We made a big trip to Walmart to stock up on big boy undies and chocolate chips!

The weekend was full for us too, with lots of dinner plans and park trips, and a bunch of sickness! Tyler, Jack and I worked through a cold/ allergies and got through it all with only two throw-up episodes! (if you didn't know this- Tyler has a strong gag reflex, and when he has a cold, the congestion triggers the reflex and causes him to throw up when he is in bed, or coughing hard- yuck I know, but we have gotten used to it and know how to prepare now!)

So, we decided it was high time to train Tyler to learn how to use a potty, because for the past two weeks, he had been taking off his diaper after he went #2 and trying to put it into the trash can, or the floor, or his bed.. you know, making a general mess in his room. He used the curtain for a wipe one time, and sat on the floor most days... it was pretty gross! So enough was enough....

So potty training has been interesting! I knew I was in faith for it all, and excited to get this boy on the potty... there have been several rough moments, lots of tears (not mine!), and so far only 3 accidents over the past two days and success 4 times! It has been cute to see him run around in little boy undies and bare bottomed.... lots of fun. He is keeping me on my toes- literally, as I fear he is letting loose whenever he is out of sight! But God has given much grace, and hopefully we will be able to go out later this week with undies on only.... we will see!

And this little boy... turns 5 months tomorrow!!! He is so big! He is already in 6-9 month clothes! Crazy to me! I had been holding out the solids as long as possible, for a few reasons... I am cheap, I am busy, and I love him being a baby as long as possible! However, yesterday, he seemed really fussy after a feeding, like he was still hungry.. so I had some rice cereal on hand, and mixed up a liquidy bowl for him. He made SUCH a mess, but he seemed to enjoy it. After every bite, he tried to suck his thumb! It was very messy, but very cute. I gave him some more today, and he did well, but I don't think I am going to be making this an everyday thing, unless he seems hungry. I waited a little longer with Tyler, and liked the head/mouth control Tyler had at 5 1/2 mo... so we will see...

here are a few picts from last week of Jack. I have other pictures but not the time to load them! Too busy chasing after the boy in undies!

My sister...

My sweet sister is counting down the weeks until her little baby girl enters this world! With only 6 weeks to go, she came up to Maryland for a weekend with us, and a baby shower! She let me take some maternity pictures of her and her growing belly! Here are some of the maternity shots. Baby shower pictures coming soon...

Ooopps...

It started as a little trim to get the hair out of his eyes...

And then he moved a few times while I was cutting...

And now he is a big boy for real...

He found his play-doh scissors and wanted to cut his hair some more...

I told him mommy cut off more than enough for now...

I miss his long hair already... I am so sad!!! At least he is a boy and his hair will grow back!

Weighing In...

I knew that Jack was a little on the big side, but I had no idea he was as big as he turned out to be! We went to the Dr. today for his 4-month check-up, and boy were they all surprised to see just how big he had gotten! So, here are the stats:

Weight: 17lb 14 oz (95th percentile)
Height: 26 1/2 inches (95th percentile)
Head: 16 1/4 inches (45th percentile)

Just for comparison, Tyler was 17lb 14 oz and 26 3/4 inches tall at 6 months. So, yeah, Jack is huge! He got three shots again, and cried at first, but has been a champ since. I think that because his thighs are so fat, it didn't hurt as badly! The Dr. was funny when he asked me what I was feeding him... if I was simply nursing or formula.... believe it or not, we are just nursing here. He wont even take a bottle!

Then the Dr. started talking about us needing to put Jack in a new car seat! Yikes! He is getting so big so fast. He is already in 6-9 months clothes! Too fast. I love my little chunky boy!

Here are some recent shots of my baby!
