I always said that I would never post on blogs, but this has proved a worthy exception. I wanted to honor a woman who is greatly deserving of it, my wife.
Proverbs says "An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels". I have a found a woman who grows more precious to me every day as I observe more and more of her Godliness, her character, and her beauty.
To say that my wife is a great mother would be an understatement. She is a mother who is worthy of much praise. To observe her in her role as a mother is to observe true greatness. My wife sacrifices. She has sacrificed by planning, reading, and learning before our son was born. She has sacrificed by giving birth to him (and after having watched that, everything else kind of fades in comparision!). She now sacrifices every day, not only doing the things Tyler needs (feeding him, changing diapers, changing clothes), but also the things that bring him joy, the things that don't have to be done. Stuff like taking pictures of him, taking time to play with him, reading with him, making sure he does activities he enjoys. And all of these sacrifices of her time and energy are done with joy. I have never heard her complain when she's had to feed Tyler in the middle of the night, or care for him when he's sick, or when he's just being fussy. She has been a model to me not only of faithful service, but of serving with joy. And now number 2 is on the way!
My love, I will never be able to communicate how much I love, respect, and adore you. Thank you for being an incredible mother to our son. Thank you for having faith to fulfill your calling as a wife and mother. Thank you for diligently striving to serve our home, as well as Tyler and I. It is easy to say that "Her children rise up and call her blessed [even though he can't speak yet!]; her husband also, and he praises her." (Prov. 31:28) I honor you Tali, and hopefully you don't just feel that today, but that you feel it from me consistently. Know that the Lord is rejoicing over you and your faithfulness! Thanks for being my love, my partner, and my hero! And thanks for saying yes to me 3 yrs ago!
I love you with all my heart.
