A LOT!!!! It has been a while since my last post, and it has been quite full. Last week, Jordan headed off to T4G and we filled our time with play dates, visits with friends, and keeping the house clean! We also geared up for potty training, which began this week. We made a big trip to Walmart to stock up on big boy undies and chocolate chips!
The weekend was full for us too, with lots of dinner plans and park trips, and a bunch of sickness! Tyler, Jack and I worked through a cold/ allergies and got through it all with only two throw-up episodes! (if you didn't know this- Tyler has a strong gag reflex, and when he has a cold, the congestion triggers the reflex and causes him to throw up when he is in bed, or coughing hard- yuck I know, but we have gotten used to it and know how to prepare now!)
So, we decided it was high time to train Tyler to learn how to use a potty, because for the past two weeks, he had been taking off his diaper after he went #2 and trying to put it into the trash can, or the floor, or his bed.. you know, making a general mess in his room. He used the curtain for a wipe one time, and sat on the floor most days... it was pretty gross! So enough was enough....
So potty training has been interesting! I knew I was in faith for it all, and excited to get this boy on the potty... there have been several rough moments, lots of tears (not mine!), and so far only 3 accidents over the past two days and success 4 times! It has been cute to see him run around in little boy undies and bare bottomed.... lots of fun. He is keeping me on my toes- literally, as I fear he is letting loose whenever he is out of sight! But God has given much grace, and hopefully we will be able to go out later this week with undies on only.... we will see!
And this little boy... turns 5 months tomorrow!!! He is so big! He is already in 6-9 month clothes! Crazy to me! I had been holding out the solids as long as possible, for a few reasons... I am cheap, I am busy, and I love him being a baby as long as possible! However, yesterday, he seemed really fussy after a feeding, like he was still hungry.. so I had some rice cereal on hand, and mixed up a liquidy bowl for him. He made SUCH a mess, but he seemed to enjoy it. After every bite, he tried to suck his thumb! It was very messy, but very cute. I gave him some more today, and he did well, but I don't think I am going to be making this an everyday thing, unless he seems hungry. I waited a little longer with Tyler, and liked the head/mouth control Tyler had at 5 1/2 mo... so we will see...
here are a few picts from last week of Jack. I have other pictures but not the time to load them! Too busy chasing after the boy in undies!
